About Us

Bonnybridge Community Council (BCC) is a volunteer group that is made up of local people who give their time to and have a genuine interest in, the well-being of our community. We have monthly meetings, (the last Tuesday of each month at 7:30pm in the Bonnybridge Community Centre) where everyone is welcome. We try to help where possible and represent the views of our community to Falkirk Council.

NOTE: BONNYBRIDGE COMMUNITY COUNCIL IS NO LONGER ACTIVE

To name but a few...

Bonnybridge Fracking Consultation

In 2017 the Community Chartering Network (CCN) facilitated a series community discussions. Having observed the highly professional and considerate way CCN organised and facilitated community consultations, we invited them to help us with Bonnybridge’s ‘Talking Fracking’ Consultation. This formed part of the Scottish Government’s Talking Fracking consultation on Unconventional Oil and Gas (UOG) exploration. For more information see CNN Scottish Fracking Consultation.

A summary of the Bonnybridge Community Council Talking Fracking UOG Community Discussion can be read here:

These discussions were held in order to communicate local community views and perspectives on UOG and contributed to the Scottish Government’s decision to impose an effective ban on fracking in Scotland in October 2017

Garden Project

PROBLEM: Falkirk Council used to plant & dig out flowers each year. Due to their budget issues, Falkirk Council just stopped planting.

SOLUTION: Perennial, pollinator plants i.e. Butterfly & Bee friendly plants that come back each year. These were planted in the Memorial & Sunken Gardens by Bonnybridge Community Council, Gardener/Ecologist Nick Trull and local volunteers. School education days were organised to involve the children of Bonnybridge and help them to learn the importance of plants & pollinators.

Litter Picks & Clean Ups

PROBLEM: Litter & broken glass on the ground.

SOLUTION: Don't drop it on the ground. Put it in the bin.
